Setting up your college

As an administrator, you get your college ready so teachers can start marking attendance. You build things up in a natural order using the admin tabs. This guide walks you through that order.

Set up on a computer. Creating and editing — subjects, classes, students, teachers, assignments — is done on desktop. On a phone you can view your college and its attendance, but the setup buttons don't appear. Use a computer to set things up.

The order to set things up

Each step builds on the last, so it's easiest to go in this order:

Once assignments are in place, teachers can mark attendance, and it flows into your dashboard automatically.

The last step is the one people miss. A teacher can't mark attendance until they have an assignment — the link between a teacher, a class, and a subject. If a teacher says they can't see a class to mark, it's almost always a missing assignment.

Finding your way around

On desktop, the admin tabs are Attendance, Teachers, Classes, Subjects, Students, Assignments, and Account. On a phone, you'll see Attendance, Students, Classes, Teachers, and a More menu that holds Subjects, Assignments, and Account.

The Attendance tab is where you review attendance across your college once teachers start marking — you don't mark attendance yourself as an admin.
