Marking attendance

Marking a full class in Daily Tab takes seconds. You choose your class, tap each student to set them present or absent, and submit. Here's the whole flow.

1. Open the Attendance tab

After you sign in, Daily Tab opens on the Attendance tab — the first tab in the bottom bar (the others are Dashboard and Profile). This is where you mark attendance.

Teach at more than one college? If you haven't chosen one yet, you'll first see a short "Choose one to continue" screen. There's also a college dropdown at the top of the Attendance screen so you can switch. If you belong to just one college, this is skipped.

2. Choose your class and subject

What you see next depends on how many classes you're assigned:

You don't pick a period or a date. The period is whatever your college has active for that class, and the date is always today (more on that below).

3. Mark each student

On the student list, you'll see Today and the date at the top, then your students by roll number. To mark a student, tap anywhere on their row — not a checkbox, just the row. Each tap cycles the status:

Those are the only two final states: Present or Absent. Once a student has been marked, tapping moves between Present and Absent — it doesn't return to "unmarked." A counter at the top shows how many you've marked, and the present and absent totals.

Shortcut: the check button next to Submit marks everyone present at once. Handy when only a few students are absent — mark all present, then tap just the absentees to switch them.

4. Submit

Attendance is not saved as you tap — you need to submit. Tap the green Submit attendance button at the bottom.

If you teach more than one class, you'll then see "Saved. Mark another class?" with a Choose class button, so you can go straight into your next one.

Fixing a mistake

If you spot an error right after submitting and you're still on that screen, just tap the students to correct them and tap Submit attendance again. The new submission replaces today's record for those students.

Important: if you leave the class and come back, the list loads fresh with everyone unmarked — it does not show what you saved earlier. If you then mark and submit again, it will overwrite today's attendance for that class. So if today is already done, you don't need to open it again. If you do need to correct it later the same day, you'll have to mark the whole class again.

About the date

Daily Tab marks attendance for today only, using your college's calendar and timezone. There's no date picker and no way to mark yesterday or a future day from this screen. If your phone's date doesn't match your college's current day, the save will be refused — so make sure your device date is correct.
