Marking attendance
Marking a full class in Daily Tab takes seconds. You choose your class, tap each student to set them present or absent, and submit. Here's the whole flow.
1. Open the Attendance tab
After you sign in, Daily Tab opens on the Attendance tab — the first tab in the bottom bar (the others are Dashboard and Profile). This is where you mark attendance.
2. Choose your class and subject
What you see next depends on how many classes you're assigned:
- One class and subject — it's selected for you automatically, and you go straight to the student list.
- More than one — you'll see "Choose class & subject." Each row reads Class name — Subject name. Tap the one you want to mark.
- None assigned — you'll see a message that no classes or subjects are assigned to you for this college. Your administrator assigns these.
You don't pick a period or a date. The period is whatever your college has active for that class, and the date is always today (more on that below).
3. Mark each student
On the student list, you'll see Today and the date at the top, then your students by roll number. To mark a student, tap anywhere on their row — not a checkbox, just the row. Each tap cycles the status:
- Tap to mark (unmarked) → becomes Present
- Tap again → becomes Absent
- Tap again → back to Present
Those are the only two final states: Present or Absent. Once a student has been marked, tapping moves between Present and Absent — it doesn't return to "unmarked." A counter at the top shows how many you've marked, and the present and absent totals.
4. Submit
Attendance is not saved as you tap — you need to submit. Tap the green Submit attendance button at the bottom.
- Everyone must be marked first. If any student is still unmarked, you'll see a message like "N students still unmarked — mark everyone first," and nothing is saved until you fix it.
- When it saves, a confirmation appears showing the percent present today and the present/absent counts. Tap Done (it also closes on its own after a few seconds).
If you teach more than one class, you'll then see "Saved. Mark another class?" with a Choose class button, so you can go straight into your next one.
Fixing a mistake
If you spot an error right after submitting and you're still on that screen, just tap the students to correct them and tap Submit attendance again. The new submission replaces today's record for those students.
About the date
Daily Tab marks attendance for today only, using your college's calendar and timezone. There's no date picker and no way to mark yesterday or a future day from this screen. If your phone's date doesn't match your college's current day, the save will be refused — so make sure your device date is correct.
