Teaching at multiple colleges

If you teach at more than one college, you don't need separate apps or logins. One Daily Tab account covers every college you teach at — you just pick which one you're working in.

One login for everywhere you teach

You sign in once, with a single email and password, and every college you belong to lives in that one account. Your name and password belong to the account, not to any one college, so you set them once and they apply everywhere. Each college still keeps its own classes, students, and calendar separately.

Joining a second college is automatic. If you already use Daily Tab, another college can add you with the same email — no new invite to accept, no new password. The college simply appears in your list the next time you open the app. You only go through the invite (password and terms) the very first time you join Daily Tab.

Choosing a college when you sign in

If you belong to more than one college and haven't chosen one yet, you'll see a Select College screen — "You have access to more than one college. Choose one to continue." — with a dropdown to pick. Daily Tab remembers your choice, so next time you go straight in without picking again.

If you belong to just one college, this screen is skipped — the app opens straight to it.

Switching between colleges

You can switch college anytime, without signing out. The college dropdown appears in the header of two tabs: on Attendance, next to "Hello, {your name}," and on Dashboard, next to the class and subject filters.

When you switch, everything reloads for the new college — its classes, its subjects, its attendance. You'll pick a class and subject for that college, or go straight in if you only have one there. Nothing is ever mixed between colleges.

The switcher only appears if you belong to more than one college. With a single college, there's no dropdown — there's nothing to switch between.

If you're an administrator somewhere too

Your role is set per college — you might be a teacher at one and an administrator at another. When you switch to a college where you're an administrator, Daily Tab opens that college's admin tools instead of the teacher view. Switch to a college where you're only a teacher, and you're back in the teacher app.

If you're an administrator at a college but also teach there, you'll see a Teaching view bar with a Switch to admin option, so you can move between marking your own classes and managing the college.

If a college is no longer available

If a college you belonged to is closed, or you're removed from it, it simply drops off your list. If none of your colleges are active anymore, you'll see a "This college is no longer active" screen. If you think that's a mistake, contact your administrator or email support@dailytab.app.
